The study aimed to identify risk factors for the development of pressure injuries (PI) in adult patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU), including those with Covid-19. Using an integrative literature review, 11 quantitative articles were analyzed that addressed advanced age, comorbidities, length of stay in the ICU, immobility, use of medical devices, nutritional and hydration status, and hemodynamic variables as significant risk factors. The results highlight the need for effective preventive strategies to reduce the incidence of PIs and improve ICU care. Risk scales and integrated care protocols are essential for clinical practice.
