Resumo

Introduction: Futsal requires physical actions that allow sudden stops, accelerations and changes of direction, characterizing that agility is directly correlated among the most demanded physical capabilities in this sport. Objective: Effect of an 8-week intervention of reduced transition games on the agility of U20 futsal athletes. Methods: Thirty-one under 20 futsal athletes were evaluated with an average age of 16 ± 1.63 years, body mass of 58.70 ±10.37 kg, height of 1.72 ± 0.07 m, respectively; were subjected to the Illinois Test agility test, before and after an 8-week intervention of reduced transition games. The actions of the reduced transition games according to the weeks were: weeks 1-2 (1X0; 2X1; 4X3; 4X4); weeks 3-4 (2X1; 3X2; 4X3; 4X4); weeks 5-6 (1X1; 2X1; 3X2; 4X3; 4X4) and weeks 7-8 (1X0; 1X1; 2X1; 2X2; 3X2; 3X3; 4X3; 4X4). Results: The results demonstrated that there was an improvement in time (second “s”), as shown in the data, consequently, improved results were obtained in the Post-Test (M=13.13s; EP = 0.13s) and Pre-Test (M=13 .15s, EP=0.15s), demonstrated t (30) = 0.13, p>0.05. Conclusions: With 8 weeks of training in reduced transition games we can improve agility in the Illinois Tests for under-20 Futsal athletes.
