Resumo

The conflicts related to urban environmental issues interfere with perspectives on quality of life and stress levels. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of noise-induced stress on hematological parameters. Thirty young adult male Wistar lineage rats, weighing approximately 200g, were used and divided into 3 groups: group 1 (control) did not receive the stress factor, group 2 was exposed to standardized repetitive sound stimulus, with 15 minutes of silence and 15 minutes of noise, and a period of 8 hours of silence from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Group 3 was exposed to non-repetitive sound stimulus. After seven weeks, the animals were euthanized, and blood was collected from the portal vein for hematological analysis upon confirmation of death. The animals group 2 had a lower percentage of weight gain compared to the control group, and the hematological analysis showed alterations in lymphocyte count, hemoglobin, erythrocytes, plasma proteins, and MCH. This study suggested that noise exposure may affect the immunological parameters of Wistar rats. The observed hematological alterations indicate the triggering of adaptive physiological mechanisms under the stress conditions to which the animals were subjected.
