Cardiovascular diseases harm the heart and blood vessels, affecting the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues. Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is serious due to sudden obstruction of a coronary artery and requires treatment. Frequent physical activity is crucial for health. OBJECTIVE: Promote a systematic review with meta-analysis on the effects of HIIT on patients suffering from AMI. METHODOLOGY: A systematic review of studies published in the Pubmed database between 2019 and 2023 was carried out. The search used the terms "Physical Activity" and "Acute myocardial infarction" combined with the AND operator. The analysis of the diversity of studies was performed using the Chi-square test, and the meta-analysis was conducted using the GrafPad Prism software. RESULTS: Based on the selection criteria, five selected studies concluded that High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is effective in improving cardiorespiratory fitness, quality of life and other aspects in patients who have suffered Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI). CONCLUSION: High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) improves cardiovascular health and physical fitness when done correctly.
