Pre-formulation study and evaluation of antifungal activity for Clarisia racemosa sporotrichosis

Antifungal therapy can generally cause toxicity and resistance to fungi, therefore the search for new therapies is necessary to minimize the occurrence of these cases. The objective of this work was to carry out an evaluation of antifungal activity and a pre-formulation study based on C. racemosa for sporotrichosis. The plant drug based on C. racemosa, the hydroalcoholic extract, the extracts dried by spray dryer and dried by fluidized bed were obtained and analyzed physicochemically, in addition to evaluating the antifungal activity of the extracts for Sporothrix. Two pharmaceutical forms were developed: effervescent granulate, which presented organoleptic characteristics, disintegration criteria and effervescence point within the specifications and tablet, presenting average weight, hardness and disintegration point within the parameters, except friability which did not meet the specification . The analyzes of the samples obtained were carried out using scanning electron microscopy and High Performance Liquid Chromatography, demonstrating satisfactory results. Studies involving C. racemosa have shown promising results for antifungal activity against Sporothrix.
