Resumo

Introduction: SARS-CoV-2 can damage the myocardium by viral invasion directly or indirectly through inflammation, endothelial activation and microvascular thrombosis, increasing the risk of cardiovascular complications, including Myocarditis, Arrhythmias and Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) , with emphasis on AMI with ST Supra (STEMI). Objective: To analyze the main aspects in the STEMI scenario after covid-19, focusing on elucidating whether there is a change in morbidity and mortality and how to manage it in the context of the general practitioner. Methods: Integrative literature review carried out in the bases of PUBMED, Virtual Health Library (BVS), SciELO and LILACS, with the following descriptors “Acute myocardial infarction” and “Covid-19” and the Boolean “AND”. The filters used were the “last 3 years” and “free text”. Non-relevant articles were excluded, 23 articles were included in this review. Results: Pulmonary implications, especially COVID-19, result in a worse prognosis in patients with STEMI, and early detection and implementation of optimal therapeutic strategies for the effective treatment of the condition are of paramount importance.
