Resumo

Among the various affects experienced in the Covid-19 pandemic scenario, the theme proposed in this study refers to the consequences of anxiety on the mental health of children up to 12 years old. Therefore, the general objective of this article is to analyze the impacts that the anxiety manifested in the Covid-19 pandemic has brought to the mental health of children up to 12 years old. This is an exploratory research, of a qualitative nature, carried out through social networks in order to prevent the contagion of Covid-19, with the sample being composed of 36 participants, 34 parents/guardians of children and two teachers from Education Basic, whose instrument for data collection is a questionnaire, available via Google Forms.OThe results show that the children manifested psychological distress with the pandemic, becoming anxious about social distancing and the suspension of face-to-face classes. Returning to school in the classroom at school is a positive factor for children's mental health.
