Education and neuroscience: a literature review on executive functions

This article was written based on a literature review about executive functions (EFs). The aim of this study is to present specialized researches about executive functions that can relate with education and the classroom. The theme is relevant because the EFs are significant for memory and attention processes. Furthermore, researches indicates that people who do not function well in their executive functions are more likely to have severe social, emotional, and behavioral problems, and since EFs in childhood predict EFs in adult life, it is possible that school can support the improvement of these skills, especially in Early Childhood Education.
