Resumo

To map the characteristics of Primary Health Care and their impacts on the occurrence of Ambulatory Care Sensitive Hospitalizations  in adults. This study involves conducting a scoping review according to the methodological proposal of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), reported following the standards established by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist. A total of 2.806 articles were identified across seven information databases, with 22 included in this study. Lower occurrences of ACSH were associated with the following PHC characteristics: coverage of the Family Health Strategy, management of chronic conditions within healthcare networks, continuity of care, density of professionals, and spatial access. Understanding these factors underscores the potential of the ACSH indicator for monitoring the effectiveness of PHC within healthcare networks. In turn, this can improve health practices, which must remain continuous and dynamic, grounded in scientific evidence.
